How do y’all record the weight per set when using dumbbells? For example. If I do bench press, curls or any other exercise where I use both arms at the same time to complete the set, I usually record the single weight because each arm is working independently. In theory I guess this is wrong because you’re doing twice the work. 🤔 If I’m using a bar when pressing, I automatically use the bar weight plus the plate weights on both ends. Any tips?

I record the weight on the implement.
If it's a 30kg dumbbell, I record 30kg. If I'm using 2, I still record 30kg. If I managed to hold 2 dumbbells in one hand I would then record 60kg, but that's unlikely to ever happen.

This is a very contentious topic around here. Either way is fine so long as I remain consistent. I record total weight, not per dumbbell weight. Like I said though, ultimately it doesn't matter, so long as you are consistent.

The biggest thing is to use a method that is easiest to remember what weight you are on, especially when you should be increasing over time.
Most just log the single DB weight, you look and see 30 so you grab 30s.
I do it differently, anything unilateral, I'll log the single DB, but also do two sets(one for each limb). If I am pushing or pulling both DBs at the same time, I'll log the total of both DBs as a single set. I want ALL my volume tracked, not half.
Consistency is what matters in the long run, picks method and stick to it.

The weight of the dumbells or plates so I remember what to grab/load next time. if doing both sides at once I log it as a single set. if each side is worked independently I do it as 2 sets.

I track via dumbbell. so 30kg dB is 30kg entered. I also do this for smith machine and leverage machines (whatever it is on each side). not a big deal at the end of the day, just as long as it's consistent, though it's it will calculate total volume incorrectly. though if it's consistent, you can factor that in. would be cool if they implemented something like that though to distinguish on the exercise if it's total weight or individual weight
