any tips or advice for barbell deadlifts? I usually have a shoulder width stance, with toes pointed outward and my arms outside my legs. Tonight, I widened my stance and let my arms hang down between my knees. It felt much more centered and balanced. I also lower it slow and controlled (unlike I see most people) that's where I really check my form. any suggestions?
Barely shoulder width apart. Hands very close to my legs. Bend over and feel stretch in hamstrings. Bend knees so shin touches bar. Shoulders directly over hands. Brace and lats in back pockets. Chest high chin low back straight. Take slack out of bar. Try to push feet through floor making sure bar keeps in contact with legs through entire movement. After bar clears knees focus on tightening glutes and hips to lock out the lift.
